Chevy Avalanche Denali

Overjoyed at Riva

8th Stage - Final Stage
Madonna DC Riva

Before we begin the daily routine: We are still not aware what was going on since a few hours. We actually have the final stage in 22nd place finished. Simply amazing! But first things first ...
Today it happened: The last day the last stage, the last time to get up at 6 am and directly to the jersey. The last time to pack the Transalp bag, the last time portioning gels and bars, the last time to touch drinks, the last time use 3-layer lubrication (horse balm, Sixtus Active cream, Sixtus start oil), the last time in the stress time for the start of come, the last time for the bike this week. But first we must
again lose a word about our hotel: We have never slept so well, the beds were a dream. The modern ambience with a dive into another world - when we went to breakfast the open plan, modern wood dealer, entered the dining room, we could not believe our eyes. The huge range of food, salmon, cheese and ham leckerstem 5 different cakes and pastries to cereal varieties, which we were previously unknown. Although we are finally starting block B were at our place overall 95 after stage 7, we have decided during breakfast that we do without a good starting position and would rather enjoy the breakfast in full. So we have only been 30 minutes before the start of the grid, but war das nebensächlich.

The atmosphere is great before the last stage
After the exit, it went straight into the first and longest rise, the legs were in the initial heavy as lead, since really the 12km downhill at 18 ° C all cooled. But we have to fast forward the murnau team (which we still want to make a separate report) and have attached their frenzied pace to keep trying. In principle, we used the same tactics as yesterday: From the beginning, full throttle, all on one card.
The legs were there quickly agreed to the pressure on the pedal. The boys got dressed up just before the summit, that pace was really great. Just before we reached the summit Norgaard-Sisters (leading women's team) and had already a great position before departure. It was followed by a flat connector on the street and a few waves that repeatedly blew up our group of 15 people. Shortly before Riva rose a bad increase, which was half impassable. That is, run, run, run. Completely finished at the top end of the group arrived, we tried to establish the descent to Lake Garda to go with the pace. The trail was amazing, full stop at the most violent paragraphs, rocks and stones deal with the hardtail - typical of the lake. The bike held out but, except for the chain which the crank jumped in, and firmly clamped. Short stop, completely panicked again addressed the chain and down we went. But we had fewer problems as the others in this group and could play to our driving technique. Below, we suddenly had arrived alone. Alone in front of Riva, alone in front of this group. Now there were only 5km from the finish, on the streets of Riva, which were not locked. Completely at the stop we caught even two other teams before us and have the final sprint will actually reach 22nd When you see our preparation and prior history of the Transalp, we can be incredibly happy. And that's what we are now and enjoy the weekend at Lake Garda! We have increased each stage, von Platz 164 auf Etappe 1 bis zum Platz 22 auf Etappe 8. Einfach genial!

Before the start - we feel good!

Today's high profile - in fact it's all uphill:)

Unfortunately, today we have made no images of the road, but there are two reasons First, we were doing well and on the other was played today with the weather.
Today's stage is the shortest stage of this year Transalp 2010. However, it was always uphill and the increases were very steep with some running passages.
For us this was the day of truth: the distance was short enough to give everything from the beginning, in the hope that the force reaches the target.
relaxed roommate Rainer in his own way. Genial!

Therefore we started by right: The first hill after the start was our hope to come before the great masses in the next trail including departure. The plan worked, we overtook nonstop other participants and placed us in the Starting Block B. The pulse range was between 170-180 and technical forces have driven to the limit. After the first climb including exit route followed a link on asphalt to the next mountain. Sorry, we did not have the group helped us despite animate "suck" the enemy in the slipstream. But as we now all on one card, we tried to hold up pace. We also played poker, the first Aid station saw us pass only. Without helpers and caregivers, we lose just take too much time filling up the bottle and eating.

Now, the hammer, the last increase was divided into 3 sections, some with extreme slopes that had probably push a few. We realized slowly but surely, we were so far forward so far never been before. At the aid station was served us eat and drink, other than the first stage where we had to, anything at all to get her hands on look. No wonder you are being served by nice ladies! The first ramp we got still a few places, until the slopes are lined up. Sometimes so steep that we had to concentrate fully tried not to fall from the wheel. The second ramp was then provided with drivable trails stairs - walk or run was announced. Not really our thing, but the motivation was so high, even ran well today. After the second ramp we were not sure where we were. We have on our arm every day glued the vertical profile of the stage, unfortunately too small. But at least you will know what an even expected. But if you do not know where you are currently located, does not use it. Actually, we were ready for departure, then came Ramp No. 3 Re extremely steep, extremely violent and yet again it went forward a little. Shortly before the summit, we wanted to take a picture, since by the very fast race course is not to come. Just then the heavens opened with heavy rain and sleet was announced.

rang the alarm bells, the newly purchased camera had to be stowed in watertight. No easy task when rain fell down is that Jersey will be closed down must glasses hanging on the handlebars and one is already in the downhill run.
Completely drenched

shower and washing machine in one!

Our most beautiful and classiest hotel during this event - and still relatively cheap.

Armin in the laundry

The departure was a high-speed gravel departure - again, we made some good pitches. be exercised at this point, criticism of the organization: It came in this exit against four large concrete mixer truck. Simply crass when driving on the limit, it is pouring rain, through the one overtaking is never on the racing line and expect every moment with a truck needs. Something can not be! It was followed by another short single-track trails through the ground and moorastigen Roots - the rain made it even more difficult. But because we could catch up at least more and reached for a sprint Madonna di Campiglio after 3:20 the target. This corresponds to position 47 to 2320 meters, we are overjoyed and we're thrilled. This should be achieved in the Top 100 overall at last!

Greetings from the dauerverregneten Madonna di Campiglio and the most beautiful hotel of our Transalp, the Dolce Vita
are thrilled about the hotel - not surprising after countless descending

Hypothyroid Rash Breast

idea: Crank Brothers Cobalt Wheels Our

Crank Brothers Cobalt Wheels
Even in non-extended state
We were equipped for the Transalp with cobalt wheels, which were by far no problems.
is the most noticeable thing, as always with Crank Brothers, his own and other optics. The hub body is milled very fine and noble, in beautiful anodized gold held. It has no holes and is therefore mobile and rim tape as a mobile or tubeless rims with the supplied valve. Daniel leaves with a hose, Nico as tubeless. Both have been no problems up to only one disk. Even most violent departures over 20km in length and a hardtail with many extreme impacts by rocks and boulders have the wheels wore nothing, no broken spokes, etc.. The rim appears to models to be resistant to punctures it still looks very good.
Two-piece quick release, black and gold eccentric
Another highlight is the quick release: it consists of two levers, each with different cams, the little golden lock to bias, the large black one to the final. The freewheel is loud and the large number of blades it has its own sound, just beautiful! Conversion to axle is possible.
In combination with other Crankbrothers attachments can make his bike subtle but extremely high quality, the used Eloxat fit, writing perfect match.
A note: The Shimano XT 770 32-11 cassette fits because of the long rivets not, we therefore fitted the 40 gr heavier XT 770 34-11. Fortunately, we are happy every day again on the 34th pinion ... ;)

brake Avid Elixir 5

The real lever on the handle until it snaps push away. Thought the whole thing as a crash-proof, so that the lever remains intact and the frame is not completely over. If we make it fast and jerky, this was repeated several times with us at least the pressure point back. Quickly we were reconciled to Mr. Sram and look forward to the super braking power of the Elixir ..

Are There Chairs For Floor Seats In Rose Garden?

On the way to Lago di Garda

6. times went

After yesterday's mammoth stage today over 73km and 2363 meters to Male - Stage

Ponte di Legno. At 6 clock have already been picked up our bags - which meant 6 hours of sleep. But we were motivated anyway, after yesterday's performance we can be very satisfied. The departure from our hotel 10 km from Passo del Tonale, which in summer is pretty much left to Ponte di Legno was very fun, so have to start a good biking day. At the start / finish area arrived daily procedure: Call High5 gel prior to purchase, last WC-course and the battle for starting places. Unfortunately, we start again from block C.

If the starting signal can then be put on all your mind, start to block C then pass by 2-3min. Without a long way round it was now directly in the first mountain, 1200 meters over a path which was mostly just a mobile track. Surprisingly, our legs were very good, we were working place to place forward. It's just huge fun when it comes to the front and has put pressure on the pedal. However, you forget for sheer ambition, but that more than 4 hours in the saddle. After reaching the top it went directly into a single trail which concentration and strength in standing ... So be asked Bars and gel thrown while riding in the hope not to fall right down the slope. Followed quickly by Iso throw drinking and after 5 min, the concentration slowly looking up again. The rest of the route consisted of increases of approximately 400 meters, some hiking, some beautiful flowige singletrack. The day was just great, great range and great weather. We always start with 2 x 700ml bottles full, and came to the aid stations just fine. But today we were after the first climb very well and placed far forward so that we have seen neither the landscape around us, could take pictures the way and have skipped the last aid station complete. came after the 15km descent namely the last part to Male: 15km Bolzerstecke light falling on tar. Some bike paths, some small ramps in the street with destination. At this time we would have located the Top70, and carried a team from Italy served well on slipstreaming. Until then, this damn 4cm piece of glass Nicos slashing tires, tubeless rear of the drive with docblue swallow milk. The hole was so large that the liquid is sealed nothing. Nico wanted only not believe it until it completely at 50km / h rear wheel lost the air.

stopping, wheel out, Nico removed before the tubeless valve, Daniel prepared tube and CO ²-cartridge, and look Shard Remove hose in, cartridge and shoot wheel clean. In sum, it took but 2-3min and estimated 30 riders later, we were only back on the bike. This was the second plates within the 6th Transalp stages.

Full of anger inside, we tried single-handedly to the two major groups that had overtaken us ranzufahren. With a headwind at about 50km / h and stop pulse 180 after about 4 hour drive is no easy occasion. We fought to the finish, übersprintet the last 2 ramps in the saddle, but our good ranking was gone. 92nd after 4:30 h. We are very happy about it and looking forward to the last two remaining Stages, Madonna and on Saturday morning after the last stage to Riva. On the one hand, it is really a drag to drive on the limit every day, on the other hand, it is simply fantastic to experience the most beautiful sport with the most amazing landscapes and routes.

Man kann sich eigene Bildschirmkonfigurationen erstellen und it has all the information you need at a glance. Considering the price for the complete package you get more for your money anywhere.
